Janet Dean has urged local people to see if the Government’s new boiler scrappage scheme can help them stay warm this winter.
Janet said,
“We are all thinking about how to keep our homes warm during the very cold weather we are having at the moment. If you have an old or inefficient boiler, you may be wasting both money and energy.”
“The Government’s new scrappage scheme, launched this week, could help you upgrade your boiler, cut your fuel bills and reduce carbon emissions.”
Under the scheme, up to 125,000 households in England with working low efficiency, “G-rated” boilers will be entitled to £400 off the price of a new, modern “A-rated” boiler or a renewable heating system.
To find out if you qualify, you need to get a quote from a reputable installer and then contact the ACT ON CO2 advice line on 0800 512 012.
Full details of the scheme, including a list of eligible boilers, can be found on the Energy Saving Trust website at:

Janet added,
“The scheme will also help to secure 250,000 jobs across the tens of thousands of small and medium businesses involved in boiler manufacture, sales and installation. Despite the recession, the Government is continuing to invest in the British industries and jobs of the future.”
